AB&I Holds EH&S/HR Awareness BBQ
June 29, 2015
As part of the McWane EH&S/HR Awareness month, AB&I held a team BBQ last week. Manuel Fagundes and Alfredo Costa cooked tri-tip for the day shift team and Cecilio Lopez cooked for the swing shift team. Everybody enjoyed not only the food but also the information available from the environmental, safety and human resources (HR) groups.
The environmental team gave out water bottles to anyone that answered questions regarding compost, recycling and landfill correctly and the safety team played Jeopardy using questions about emergency evacuation. Team members could also play a game called Identify the Items in an EMERGENCY KIT for a chance to win an Emergency Kit and gift cards. HR distributed flu kits and provided information about life insurance, EAP, how to change your address and beneficiary. Team members also completed a word search puzzle for the chance to win a reusable AB&I grocery bag and anyone that registered for the Feel like a Million wellness program also entered a drawing for a chance to win a gift card.
After the event, team members were excited to add their signature to the “COUNT ME IN” banner as a symbol of their commitment to Safety!
Thank you to everyone that helped make this event a success. We received feedback from one team member who said, “Thanks for the lovely lunch. I’m not a fan of tri-tip but that was the best! I think I ate an entire cow. It was a fun way to refresh our knowledge on EHS & HR too”. Good job to everyone!”
