AB&I Team Member Enrique Ramirez Becomes a Sworn U.S. Citizen
February 19, 2014
AB&I is proud to announce that Coreroom Supervisor, Enrique Ramirez , recently became a naturalized citizen of the United States. Enrique and his family came to the U.S. when he was 9 years old. His family lived in Indiana for three years before moving to California. Enrique could not speak English so he had to ride the bus every day for 45 minutes to a school that had a bilingual teacher.
Enrique’s career at AB&I began in 1993 doing clean-up in Casting/Finishing. In 2000, he was promoted to Leadman and in 2007 he moved up to the position of Supervisor. Team members that work with Enrique have a great deal of respect for him as their supervisor. When asked about Enrique, one team member said, “when we make a mistake, he tells us what we did wrong and shows us how to do it right.”
AB&I held a team celebration in Enrique’s honor and presented him with an engraved U.S. flag with the words “Integrity, that’s the AB&I way.”
Enrique is a single parent and is raising two daughters, Priscilla (23) and Vanessa (16).
