Synapse Names George Myers CEO

Huntsville, Alabama (February 18, 2015) – Synapse Wireless, a leader in developing proven, scalable Internet of Things (IoT) solutions based on their award-winning SNAP® wireless mesh technology, announced today that long-time industry veteran George Myers will join the company as Chief Executive Officer effective immediately. He succeeds Key Foster, who will continue his role as Vice-Chairman of the Board at Synapse and head of McWane’s technology division.

Myers has over 25 years of experience managing and advising technology companies including an eighteen-year career as a senior manager with SunGard, a leading software and technology services company that offers information technology solutions for financial service and education companies, as well as the public sector. He has an extensive background working with customers and business partners ranging in size from startups to the largest multi-national institutions. Myers is also credited with developing the trust and wealth management industry’s first distributed processing solutions for portfolio management, client management and global custody administration.

Myers is a native of Sewanee, TN, and holds his MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a concentration in quantitative methods and analytics and also holds a Master’s of Science in Administration and Planning from the University of Tennessee. He is a Certified M&A Advisor, a member of the board of visitors at the University of Tennessee, and serves on the Board of Trustees at St. Andrews-Sewanee School.
